Why we are building anvas
anvas is a visual canvas for trading strategies: signals, conditions and actions as nodes you can see, test and stop. It is pre-release and invite-only, and this page says what we are doing and where we are.
The problem we started from
Every cloud bot platform sells the same shape: pick a bot type, fill in a form, turn it on. It works right up to the moment your idea needs two behaviours — a ladder that becomes a grid, an entry that waits for a slower chart to agree, a stop that applies across every strategy rather than one. At that point you are told to run several bots that cannot see each other, or to write the whole thing yourself.
The second problem is worse. When a bot fills an order you did not expect, the interface has nothing to say about why. You get a trade list and a settings page, and the reasoning in between is gone. That is a strange thing to accept from software holding your exchange keys.
What we decided instead
- A graph, not a form. One strategy holds every branch, so the parts can see each other and the order of operations is visible rather than implied. See what that lets you build.
- A glass box. Every fill traces back to the node, the candle and the value behind it, and the whole decision log is exportable — that is the glass box.
- Risk in the graph. Drawdown ceilings, exposure caps and kill switches are nodes, enforced on our side before an order leaves for the venue.
- Backtests that argue with you. Real venue fees, a slippage assumption you set, walk-forward splits and an overfit score on every run — by default.
- Keys are optional. A strategy can end at an alert or an HTTP request and never take an exchange key at all.
Who it is for
People who already have a strategy and have run out of room: traders whose idea does not fit a preset, TradingView users who want sizing and risk checks between the alert and the order, and developers who would rather not maintain their own execution stack. If a single DCA or grid preset does what you need, a simpler tool is genuinely the better buy, and our comparison pages say where.
Where we actually are
anvas is in private alpha. The engine, the canvas and the execution path exist and run; everything else is in the queue rather than in the product. We ship one thing at a time and open seats in small batches, starting with the setups closest to what already works. The roadmap is the honest version of what is built and what is not, and it moves when something lands — no dates, because we would only be guessing at them.
Pricing is flat monthly tiers by active workflows and connected exchanges. No performance fee, no cut of your profits and no per-trade charge, because we would rather not be paid more when you trade more. There is a free tier, and it stays.
Talking to us
We are a small team and the address below reaches us directly — bug reports, a strategy you cannot express, or a flat disagreement with something on this site are all welcome. Email hello@anvas.app, or join the waitlist and tell us what you trade; that answer is what decides the order seats open in.
